If you’d told me a couple of years ago that I’d spend a weekend practically sleeping on the try-line of English Rugby’s legendary home, I’d have probably asked which teams were playing. But thanks to a recent Agents weekender at the Radisson RED London Twickenham, I think I’ve officially been converted into a fan.

Here’s the lowdown on a stadium-side hotel stay, surprisingly early check-ins, and a West London Haka I won’t forget anytime soon.

Arrival and a Cheeky “Result!”

Getting there was brilliantly easy. A smooth train ride to Twickenham station, followed by a quick ten-minute walk, landed me at the hotel’s doors. I arrived ahead of schedule, fully expecting to kill time in the lobby, but luck was on my side: my room was ready. Result!

For those who haven’t kept up with stadium news (don’t worry, neither had I), Twickenham Stadium was officially renamed the Allianz Stadium in 2024, its first name change since opening in 1909. History in the making.

The Room with a “Technically” Pitch View

Let’s be honest, I skipped straight to the window. I’d heard about these pitch-view rooms and wanted to see if the hype was real. My view was partially blocked by a cover, but I could still see the railings and stands, so, technically, I was inside the stadium. For a rugby fan (or in my case, a newly-converted one), staying here is as close as you can get to the action without lacing up your boots.

The hotel itself is modern and colourful, boasting 150 rooms. There’s The Loft, a stylish space big enough for 300 guests, a steakhouse, all-day dining at The Huddle, and even a pool and sauna to unwind in. (Just note: the TW2 Health and Fitness Club is part of the stadium complex, not inside the hotel.)

The “Morning After” Stadium Tour

After a late night socialising with fellow agents, I wasn’t sure I’d be up for the morning stadium tour. But FOMO got the better of me, and I’m glad it did. Even if you’re not a massive rugby fan, the stadium’s scale is seriously impressive.

We got the full VIP treatment: a peek into the changing rooms (imagine the pre-match nerves), a look at the infamous ice baths (rather them than me), and the chance to walk through the tunnel towards the pitch—cue goosebumps. It’s hard not to feel the history and energy of the place.

A Pandora’s Box of Event Spaces

Wearing my “agent” hat, I scoped out the venue with events in mind. Radisson RED Twickenham is a Pandora’s Box: open one door, there’s a boardroom; open another, a sprawling hall. The Rose Suite is designed for going big, think up to 1,200 guests. On the flip side, over 150 executive boxes are perfect for intimate meetings with a view that puts any city office to shame.

It’s clear the hotel is built for everything; from major conferences to exclusive dinners, with the flexibility to match.

A West London Haka

To cap off our weekender, we were treated to a Haka experience. Traditionally, this Māori ritual is all about pride and unity. Our version featured three enthusiastic blokes from West London, not quite the All Blacks, but they gave it heart, and the whole thing was hilarious and energising. It was a perfect, memorable finish to the weekend.

The Verdict

Whether you’re planning a massive conference in the Rose Suite, a team away-day, or just a unique weekend escape, Radisson RED Twickenham offers an experience you won’t find anywhere else. The combination of stadium energy, modern comfort, and versatile event spaces makes it a standout choice for both work and play.

I arrived for a hotel stay and left as a rugby fan—impressed by the venue, the service, and the vibe that comes from being right in the centre of sporting history. If you’re after something out of the ordinary, with a story to tell and a view worth bragging about, this place delivers.
